Draper edged out by Alcaraz in Rome quarter-finals
Briefly

In the Italian Open, Jack Draper faced world number three Carlos Alcaraz and was eliminated after losing 6-4 6-4. Draper initially led in the first set but Alcaraz's ability to save crucial break points allowed him to turn the tide. Despite a strong effort from Draper in the second set, he could not convert two break points, and ultimately, Alcaraz's experience shone through, securing him a spot in the semi-finals against Lorenzo Musetti or Alexander Zverev.
Draper, 23, was beaten 6-4 6-4 as world number three Alcaraz battled valiantly to save break points at key moments and take his own chances when they came.
Looking to build on his run to the Madrid Open final last week, Draper recovered in the second set and constantly applied pressure on Alcaraz's serve.
