Corruption pushing African youth to emigrate: Poll

According to the 2024 African Youth Survey, nearly 60% of young Africans express a desire to leave their home countries largely due to rampant corruption that their governments fail to address.
The survey indicated that a staggering 83% of the youth surveyed are concerned about corruption, and 62% feel that their governments are not adequately tackling the issue.
Young Africans are showing a strong preference for emigration, with North America as their primary destination, followed by countries in Western Europe where they seek better opportunities.
The poll also highlighted that 72% of respondents are deeply worried about foreign influence, particularly the exploitation of African resources by external companies, leaving local populations with very little gain.
