Sixteen consumer organizations in Europe have urged the EU to take action against seven low-cost airlines regarding unfair hand baggage charges. The European Consumer Organisation (BEUC) claims these airlines mislead passengers and violate EU law by imposing excessive fees on hand baggage that doesn't meet their guidelines. These additional costs can reach up to $315. The groups have requested an investigation and sanctions against these practices, insisting that standard baggage allowances should be included in the ticket price. Ryanair and Norwegian Airlines maintain their policies adhere to EU law.
