AFP reported Rico Krieger's conviction in Belarus was linked to the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment, fighting in Ukraine against Russia.
The Viasna rights group stated Krieger was found guilty of multiple criminal code violations including terrorism and creating an extremist group.
