Independent media reported former ambassador Denis Sidorenko died by suicide in Minsk after being repeatedly interrogated by Belarus' security forces.
Opposition politician Pavel Latushko stated that Sidorenko had returned to Belarus, becoming a problem for the power apparatus due to severe psychological stress.
Belarus' Foreign Ministry described Sidorenko as talented and responsible, earning respect both locally and internationally, but no official cause of death was disclosed.
Notably, this incident follows the unexpected death of Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei in 2022, initially reported as a heart attack but later disclosed as suicide.
