Russian authorities raised the official death toll to 143 in the terrorist attack on a Moscow concert venue. The Islamic State asserted responsibility, but Russian officials alleged involvement of Ukraine, the U.S., and Britain.
Many victims died of smoke inhalation as gunmen with automatic weapons attacked Crocus City Hall in Moscow. The four arrested Tajikistan citizens displayed signs of torture. Around 360 were wounded.
In the aftermath, raids on migrant dwellings and workplaces rose, affecting Central Asian immigrants. Discrimination against them is likely to escalate post the arrests.
