Winter storm warning for Yosemite from Saturday to Monday  may reach 18 inches of snow
"The NWS Hanford CA adds to be ready for, Total snow accumulations between 6 and 18 inches between 6,000 and 7,000 feet. 3 to 5 feet of accumulated snowfall above 8,000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches, the NWS said."
"If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination."
A winter storm warning covers Yosemite, Upper San Joaquin River, Kaiser to Rodgers Ridge, and Kings Canyon National Park from Saturday 1 a.m. until Monday, Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 18 inches are expected between 6,000 and 7,000 feet, with 3 to 5 feet possible above 8,000 feet. Winds may gust as high as 45 mph, creating very difficult to impossible travel and potential impacts to the Monday morning commute. Drivers should delay travel if possible, pack emergency supplies, ensure vehicles are winterized, call 511 for road conditions, and sign up for county emergency alerts.
