"The handle of the Halloween pail is hanging from these nubbins and the bucket itself is blocking his snout, making it impossible for him to eat or drink water."
Residents in Parkville, Maryland discovered a young male deer with a Halloween trick-or-treat pail stuck on his head. The handle was caught on the buck's antler nubbins and the bucket blocked his snout and sometimes his eyes, preventing eating and drinking. Volunteers organized by Bob Swensen deployed thermal drones, a ghillie suit, and a professional lassoer and considered tranquilizer darts. Initial physical searches spooked local deer and were paused to reduce disturbance. Daily drone patrols continue while volunteers await a safe opportunity to remove the pail.
