Giga Berlin completed one year without any process wastewater being discharged into the municipal sewer system, enabled by industry-leading on-site wastewater treatment systems. The manufacturing team operates a futuristic wastewater treatment facility that captured, treated, and reused process water, reducing municipal sewer demand. The factory returned 377,000 cubic meters of annual water rights to local authorities as a result of these sustainability systems. Local officials welcomed the development as beneficial for the environment, the brand, and East Brandenburg and expressed hopes for continued innovation in regional manufacturing sustainability.
