Status Yellow warning issued for four counties as 'heavy' rain forecast into the night
"There were isolated showers around the country this morning with intermittent sunny spells. Cloud will gather in the west as the day goes on, bringing rainfall in western and southwestern counties, before moving inwards over the afternoon. Temperatures will reach between 4C and 8C in the afternoon, becoming slightly warmer in the night at 5C to 10C when it will be mostly wet with potential localised flooding in parts."
"On what is the first day of meteorological winter, tomorrow is set to start off with heavy showers that will clear for a while before returning in the west through the day. Temperatures will be as high as 7C to 11C. By the night, rain will recede to bring dry spells for many parts with scatters showers appearing over western counties. Temperatures will be between 1C and 5C."
Rain warnings are in place for Cork, Kerry and Waterford from 2pm today until 9am tomorrow, with a separate warning for Wexford from 8pm Sunday to 10am Monday. Localised flooding and difficult travel conditions are likely in affected areas. Showers occurred this morning with sunny spells before cloud and rain spread from the west into the afternoon. Afternoon temperatures will range from about 4C to 8C, rising to 5C–10C overnight in mostly wet conditions. The coming week will be dominated by gloomy, unsettled weather with above-average rainfall and generally cooler, damper conditions nationwide.
