Status Yellow rain warning issued for four counties as 'heavy' rain forecast into the night
"The first warning is valid from 2pm today until 9am tomorrow morning and promises to bring "persistent" and "heavy" rainfall, the forecaster said. It applies to counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford and threatens localised flooding and difficult travel conditions. These three counties were subject to the previous rain warning which expired this morning. Another warning has been issued by the forecaster for Wexford. It begins at 8pm on Sunday evening and lasts until Monday morning, 10am."
"On what is the first day of meteorological winter, tomorrow is set to start off with heavy showers that will clear for a while before returning in the west through the day. Temperatures will be as high as 7C to 11C. By the night, rain will recede to bring dry spells for many parts with scatters showers appearing over western counties. Temperatures will be between 1C and 5C."
Persistent and heavy rainfall will affect counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford from 2pm today until 9am tomorrow, bringing localised flooding and difficult travel. A separate warning covers Wexford from 8pm Sunday to 10am Monday. The coming week will be dominated by gloomy conditions with above average rainfall spreading nationwide. The first week of December will be characterised by low pressure, leading to unsettled, cooler and damper weather. Today begins mostly dry with isolated showers and sunny spells, then cloud thickens in the west with rain spreading east. Afternoon highs 4C–8C and nights mostly wet with flood risk.
