Stagecoach South West to roll out 110 electric buses with 7.2 MW depot charging network - Sustainable Bus
"Stagecoach has confirmed a £29.3 million investment to bring more than 100 battery-electric buses into service across the county, with Barnstaple designated as a primary hub within the programme. The rollout covers the operator's depots in Torquay, Exeter and Barnstaple and is being delivered in partnership with Devon County Council and Torbay Council, with financial support from the UK Government's Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) scheme."
"The fleet plan foresees a total of 110 electric buses entering service by early 2026. Of these, 21 vehicles will be based at the Barnstaple depot. The new buses will replace existing diesel units currently operating on routes across Devon. Torquay is set to become a fully electric depot once the transition is completed, while Exeter and Barnstaple will operate electric fleets supported by new charging infrastructure."
