After Tropical Cyclone Narelle, Graveyards beach in Exmouth was littered with thousands of dead baby turtles, turtle eggs, fish, sea snakes, dolphins, and seabirds. Brinkley Davies rescued as many animals as possible, while photographer Brooke Pyke expressed her emotional struggle witnessing the devastation. The state government reported similar scenes along hundreds of kilometers of coastline. Davies, founder of the Balu Blue Foundation, took in over 70 injured seabirds and other animals into her home after the cyclone, highlighting the impact on local wildlife.
