Chimi Dorji has seven years of experience in climate action, environmental conservation, and community development in Bhutan, the world's first carbon-negative nation. He led development of Bhutan's Article 6 strategy and carbon market infrastructure, positioning the country as one of only five globally ready to participate in international carbon markets. He established the Bhutan Climate Fund and participated in Bhutan's UNFCCC COP negotiation delegations. He joined Columbia Climate School's inaugural M.S. in Climate Finance class as a Stanley Park Scholarship recipient. He plans to deepen expertise in climate finance and apply new knowledge to support frontline communities, national policy, and international engagement.
