Sunshine is expected into Saturday before a slow-moving coastal storm moves in late Sunday and lingers into Tuesday. Rain will be slow to spread northward from the south and could total 1–3 inches, with the highest amounts closest to the coast. East-northeast winds may gust to near 50 mph on Cape Cod and the Islands, increasing the risk of beach erosion and minor coastal flooding on exposed shorelines. Conditions should slowly improve by midweek, but temperatures will remain cooler than normal and coastal impacts could affect travel and outdoor plans.
