Bendix Activates Second Solar Installation At Its Huntington, IN, Facility - Busline News
"Combined with the 1.168-megawatt array launched at Plant 1 in 2021, Bendix's multi-facility Huntington campus now generates over 3 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity each year - enough to power the equivalent of hundreds of homes. The solar output also helps the site avoid an estimated 1,145 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, while providing reliable, lower-cost energy and reducing dependence on the regional power grid."
""This project represents another important investment in the cleaner, more efficient future we're building across Bendix," Luis Quiñones, Bendix environmental and sustainability engineer, said. "It reflects our continued commitment to renewable energy, to our community, and to doing what's right for the environment.""
Bendix expanded renewable-energy capacity by activating a 2,346-panel solar array at its Bendix Distribution Center in Huntington, Indiana, the company's primary North American distribution point. Combined with a 1.168-megawatt array launched at Plant 1 in 2021, the Huntington campus now generates over 3 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, enough to power the equivalent of hundreds of homes. The solar output helps avoid an estimated 1,145 tons of CO₂ emissions each year while providing reliable, lower-cost energy and reducing dependence on the regional power grid. Bendix is a member of Knorr-Bremse and supplies safety and energy-management systems for commercial vehicles across North America.
