Tottenham Hotspur is focused on winning the upcoming Europa League final, recognizing the significance of ending a 17-year trophyless streak. Defender Micky van de Ven emphasized their need for silverware and the pressure from fans who long for success. Spurs are set to face Manchester United in Bilbao after defeating Bodo/Glimt in the semi-finals. Despite having beaten United three times this season, Van de Ven cautioned that past results won't determine the final, insisting every match is a fresh challenge.
"Of course, it's nice that you play Champions League next year, but we need to win the trophy," he told TNT Sports.
"The fans say, 'we haven't won a trophy for a long time', and we want to be the group to give them something special to celebrate."
"I wouldn't say it's an advantage. Those were games in the past. This is a final, and everything can happen."
