Tottenham midfielder James Maddison has suffered a knee injury that will sideline him for the rest of the season, as confirmed by manager Ange Postecoglou. Maddison sustained the injury during Tottenham's 3-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt in the first leg of the Europa League semifinal. Postecoglou expressed disappointment, stating Maddison has been crucial to the team's success and highlighted the unfortunate frequency of injuries this season. Maddison's absence will also affect his participation in the potential Europa League final if Spurs progress.
"He'll miss the rest of this season and disappointing for him," Postecoglou told a news conference ahead of Thursday's second leg against Bodo/Glimt.
"I'm disappointed for him because he's been a real catalyst for us. He'll miss out but that's been the story of our season."
