Newcastle United is considering signing Tyler Dibling from Southampton, who has been relegated to the Championship. Former scout Mick Brown notes Dibling's skills, such as good touch and passing, but questions his ability to start and significantly impact Newcastle's team immediately. High transfer fees—potentially around £50 million—may deter interest from Newcastle and other Premier League clubs, as they seek players who can enhance their squads right away. While Eddie Howe admires Dibling, the price and questions about the player's readiness remain obstacles.
Tyler Dibling is a promising young player. Personally, I'm not quite convinced he's got enough about him at the moment to start for Newcastle every week and immediately improve the team.
He's got a good first touch, good control, can dribble and can pass it. But he hasn't got that game-changing pace a lot of clubs are looking for in their wingers.
