Defender Burn extends Newcastle deal until 2027
Briefly

Dan Burn, the 33-year-old Newcastle United and England defender, has signed a contract extension to stay at St James' Park until 2027. Joining from Brighton in January 2022, Burn has had an impressive season, notably scoring the opening goal and winning player of the match in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool. He has played 45 matches this season and even made his international debut in a World Cup qualifier. Expressing his gratitude, he shared his desire to retire at Newcastle.
I'm delighted to sign a new deal here. I knew that I was going into my last year and I really wanted to get my future tied down. I've said before that I would love to finish my career here so to be given that opportunity, I'm very grateful.
Dan has had an incredible season. He has been a key part of our most memorable moments and has rightly been rewarded with senior international football.
