Why are we teaching our kids that being Irish is a bad thing?
Briefly

The current approach to teaching Irishness in SPHE textbooks presents a narrow, stereotypical narrative that risks diluting the rich, multi-faceted identity of Ireland.
While the intention behind promoting 'diversity' seems positive, the methodologies in these textbooks often oversimplify complex cultural identities into easily digestible stereotypes.
The push for inclusion in SPHE should ideally embrace true diversity, allowing students to explore the depth and breadth of Irish culture rather than limiting them to clichéd portrayals.
There is a concern among parents that their trust in schools may lead to the uncritical acceptance of these stereotypical representations of Irishness, impacting students' understanding.
