The PG&E Corporation Foundation is investing $600,000 in scholarships for California students pursuing STEM education. The program, which has supported over $7 million since 2012, will provide 60 awards ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 to eligible high school seniors, graduates, and current students. PG&E's executive vice president remarked on their commitment to fostering the future leaders in science and engineering and helping them succeed. The application process is open to residents within PG&E's service area, emphasizing community leadership and personal achievement among candidates.
"For more than a decade, the PG&E Corporation Foundation has had the honor of helping students pursue careers as scientists, engineers and innovators powering California's clean energy progress and future," said Carla Peterman, PG&E's executive vice president of corporate affairs.
The PG&E Corporation Foundation scholarship program has awarded California students more than $7 million since 2012, supporting those who demonstrate community leadership, personal triumph, financial need and academic achievement.
This year, the foundation plans to hand out 60 scholarships worth $2,500, $5,000, or $10,000 to California STEM students.
The scholarship applications are open to California students who are high school seniors, graduates, or currently enrolled in college and reside in PG&E's service area.
