As the semester progressed, analyzing the students’ reactions helped me realize how ingrained misconceptions about race and racism were impacting their learning experience.
Despite being presented with factual explanations, I witnessed many students cling to their racist assumptions, making teaching about race an unexpectedly arduous task.
