The 'welcoming' Romford primary school where pupils 'read a book a day'
Briefly

In the report, lead inspector Lisa Smith said: "The school has a strong ambition to foster a love of reading. For example, the 'book a day' initiative identifies 190 titles for pupils from Reception to Year 6 to read and enjoy. This encourages pupils to read for pleasure while also discussing important issues of respect, tolerance and kindness."
Ofsted praised the primary school for its 'ambitious curriculum', which 'sometimes exceeds what is expected nationally'. This is largely due to the school's emphasis on developing early language and prioritizing reading for each of its 680 pupils.
The school has been awarded top grades in all inspection areas: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision, marking it as 'outstanding'.
Beyond the curriculum, St Edward's offers a 'vast' range of opportunities for students, including programs that allow children to engage in various activities, from learning musical instruments to participating in a '25 St Edward's Experiences' initiative.
