"The Sunnyvale School District's Family Engagement Program was recognized by the California School Boards Association (CSBA) for strengthening partnerships with underrepresented families, including those who are Hispanic, Black, English learners and students with disabilities. The district received the CSBA's 2025 Golden Bell Award for practices that have increased parent participation by over 30 percent. "We are not just celebrating a program; we are celebrating a philosophy that positions parents as our most important partners." The district is among 74 recipients of this year's Golden Bell Awards, now in their 46th year. The awards recognize outstanding programs and governance practices of school boards in school districts and county offices of education throughout California."

The district received the CSBA 2025 Golden Bell Award and was among 74 recipients. Sunnyvale's minimum wage will increase to $19.50 per hour on Jan. 1, 2026, with annual adjustments based on the regional Consumer Price Index.
