The school was evacuated for about an hour after a student's school-provided computer started smoking during an ELA MCAS exam. Firefighters cleared the building, and the student with burns was taken to the hospital.
MCAS testing was paused, and investigation with state departments and laptop supplier initiated to ensure safety. Uxbridge superintendent emphasized student safety as the top priority.
