Briefly

As wildfires continue to rage in Los Angeles, South Bay high school students are stepping up to help those affected. At Leland High School, the Associated Student Body is organizing fundraising activities, having raised over $1,200 to support Altadena Teen organizations, which provide free items to impacted youth. Students are engaged in various fundraising tactics including selling apparel and crafting cards, expressing empathy towards their peers affected by these tragedies. Leland is not alone; other schools, like Saratoga High School, are also involved in similar relief initiatives, showcasing a strong student-led commitment to community aid.
At Leland High School, the Associated Student Body (ASB) team has been actively raising funds for fire survivors, gathering over $1,200 through creative initiatives and events.
The students in ASB decided to fundraise for teens after we all tried to imagine losing our homes. More than anyone, we high schoolers can empathize with other teenagers.
When you see the images of homes completely destroyed and people with nothing but the clothes on their backs, it really hits you. Everyone should do their part, no matter how small.
Leland's initiative is part of a broader movement among South Bay students mobilizing to provide support and aid for those affected by the wildfires.
