In an announcement posted to the Chicago Public Schools website, school officials said classes would resume as the cold begins to ease.
Wednesday will see a high temperature of 17 degrees, a 30% chance of snow in the afternoon and a windchill that could dip as low as minus 19 degrees at O'Hare International Airport, according to the National Weather Service.
