Recent statistics reveal that post-primary school enrolment reached 425,433 last September, marking an increase of 8,858 students compared to the previous year.
For the first time, enrolment in multi-denominational secondary schools surpassed that of Catholic schools, with 48.6% of students in the former compared to 47.6% in the latter.
Over the last decade, the number of multi-denominational secondary schools rose by 26 to a total of 358, in stark contrast to a 12-school decline in Catholic institutions.
While enrolments in secondary schools increased significantly, the number of post-primary institutions remained unchanged at 722, indicating higher student density in existing facilities.
