Pitzer removes Israel study abroad program
Briefly

The move to drop the program at the University of Haifa, along with ten others, was not based on politics. The decision followed a vote by the Faculty Executive Committee and recommendations from the Academic Planning Committee.
Pro-Palestinian students celebrated the removal of the program as a win against collaborating with the University of Haifa. Various groups have been advocating for Pitzer College to join the boycott movement.
Multiple groups, including Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace, have urged Pitzer College to cut ties with Israeli universities. The Alumni group organized a petition with hundreds of signatures against college donations.
Omoto, the vice president of academic affairs at Pitzer, explained that the removal of 11 study abroad programs, including the one at the University of Haifa, was based on faculty and student committee decisions.
