Pioneering program teaches students about local watershed

Through the BioSITE program, high school students collect data on local watersheds, learning about human impact and ways to protect the environment. Nearly 26,000 students have participated since its inception.
"BioSITE helps build a connection with the environment in young students when such connections are becoming scarce," said Rob Zacheo, a science teacher at Pioneer High School. The program aims for students to become environmental stewards.
