Student Adalia Luo highlighted frustrations about campus culture, saying, "There’s a disconnect between what students seek in terms of community and what the administration seems to prioritize. It feels like Chancellor Khosla wants us to succeed academically but doesn't care much about our social lives. We’re living here, and we want more than just dorms and classes. There’s a deep need for a stronger student community here at UCSD."
Engineering student Charlotte Dong articulated her sentiments about campus life, stating, "While I love my classes and research, I can't help but feel the environment lacks a certain warmth. I’ve been here for four years, and it still feels strange that I just got my first school T-shirt. It’s like we’re all here, but we’re not truly connecting or engaging with one another outside of academics. Sometimes it feels like a soulless place, which is really disheartening."
