At least two men were killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) that exploded at Tsangagyar Sani Uthman Islamiyya School near Abuja, Nigeria. The device was inadvertently triggered by the suspects.
Police identified the suspects from Katsina and reported that two men died while tampering with the IED on the school veranda, injuring a third man and a female trader.
In recent years, Abuja has experienced a disturbing rise in violence and attacks across Nigeria, particularly from armed groups operating from surrounding states like Katsina.
The police have taken the school owner into custody for questioning as part of the investigation. It's unclear if students were present during the explosion.
