The Blue Ribbon award recognizes public and private elementary, middle and high schools that, according to the U.S. Department of Education, "excel in academic performance or make significant strides in closing achievement gaps among different student groups."
Alameda County had six Blue Ribbon schools, the most out of any Bay Area county. They are... the other Bay Area winners are three San Jose schools: Joaquin Miller Middle School, Leigh High School and Lynbrook High School.
Thirty schools in California, including nine in the Bay Area, have been named as 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools, the Department of Education announced on Monday.
