Secondary school teachers who left Ireland because they could not find full-time work after the financial crash are being put off moving home because their years of service abroad will not be reflected in their salary.
In some cases, teachers working in private schools in countries such as Dubai, China and Australia would have to accept pay cuts of up to 50pc because they would have to start from the bottom of the ladder.
