Columbia University students set up tents in a 'Gaza Solidarity Encampment' to protest the university's funding role in the war in Gaza.
The encampment was organized by student groups CUAD, SJP, and JVP to demand divestment from corporations supporting Israeli apartheid in Palestine.
The peaceful protest coincided with Columbia President Shafik's testimony at an antisemitism probe, where Shafik addressed the issue of a chemical attack on pro-Palestinian protesters.
