Trustee Robert Jung, who previously served on the Milpitas Unified School District board, led the early returns of the Nov. 5 election with approximately 48% of the votes cast.
Board president Hai Minh Ngo secured second place with nearly 36% of the votes, paving a path for incumbents to retain their positions in the district.
Challenger Douglas Sueoka trailed behind with approximately 17% of the votes, marking his initial attempt at an elected office after his previous committee roles.
This election sees Jung achieving his first electoral win after running unsuccessfully for a board seat in 2022 against three other candidates.
