Was there an expectation for you to attend higher education? Did you participate in any form of higher education? If yes, my father was a first-gen uni student in his home country, and my mother never got to go to college in hers. They did everything they could so that I could have the education that I wanted, which was in the US. I came here for college and went to grad school.
