ILR School's new banner reflects its breadth | Cornell Chronicle
Briefly

Colvin led the redesign of the ILR School's ceremonial banner to better represent its modern, global focus, incorporating symbols of labor and labor relations, human resources, business, law, government, and social justice.
The new banner features a globe, scales of justice, a wrench and gear, an open book, and a bar graph, centered around two hands shaking to signify the school's core value of bringing workers and managers together.
By replacing the smokestack with more relevant symbols and retaining the handshake, ILR acknowledges its heritage as a school focused on labor-management relations, offering a broader academic scope.
Colvin emphasized the importance of reflecting the current concerns like climate change by removing the smokestack, highlighting ILR's commitment to addressing contemporary issues through initiatives like the Climate Jobs Institute.
