Simon Arnell, head teacher at Avanti House, expressed his excitement about the nomination: 'We're absolutely thrilled as a school because it's a real reflection on the hard work we do as a school, as a trust but also the school community with our students.' He highlighted the school’s commitment to a holistic education that supports both student and staff development.
Arnell further elaborated on the school's unique approach: 'The holistic approach we have to education really enables all of the students to thrive but also the staff as well. Spiritual growth in our school is not always centred around the concept of a faith.' He emphasized self-realization and personal purpose as core elements of their education.
Vikas Pota, founder of T4 Education, noted the significance of grassroots solutions in education: 'The global education crisis is multifaceted and so must be the solutions. That's why we must look to the grass roots... to exceptional UK institutions like... Avanti House Secondary School, whose work should make governments around the world sit up and take notice.' He called for inspiration from successful schools.
Pota continued to stress the importance of spreading educational innovations, stating, 'By spreading its innovations far and wide, we can inspire change where it's needed most.' This highlights the potential impact that schools can have on global educational challenges.
