A former University of Waterloo student pleaded guilty to two charges of aggravated assault, one charge of assault causing bodily harm, and one charge of assault with a weapon in connection with the stabbing incident in June 2023.
The incident was called 'a hate-motivated incident related to gender expression and gender identity,' with evidence presented, including the manifesto of the accused referencing convicted terrorists Anders Behring Breivik and Brenton Tarrant.
