Students from schools in Louth and Meath presented innovative inventions and STEM projects at the 2026 LMETB AMTCE FET Advanced Manufacturing Pathways Schools Project Awards Ceremony at Drogheda Institute of Further Education. The year-long programme, in its fifth anniversary, is a collaboration between Further Education and Training and Schools Directorates in LMETB, operating through a partnership between education and industry. Seventeen finalist Transition Year teams presented projects on May 14. The winning project was the “Drip Clip,” created by the Brush Craft team from Ó Fiaich College in Dundalk. Students developed practical design and 3D-printing solutions to real-life challenges across themes including mental health, disabilities, sustainability, technology, health, and sport. Workshops at LMETB’s AMTCE in Dundalk covered design thinking, robotics, virtual reality welding, and 3D printing.
