Columbia University students occupied the campus's great lawn after the college president talked about the institution's response to antisemitism. Their demand is for the university to divest from partners supporting Israel in the Middle Eastern War.
Students faced threats of suspension and expulsion. Campus security was deployed at lawn entrances, allegedly as an intimidation tactic. Press members were not allowed access, and outside security demanded student IDs.
