Bard College at Simon's Rock campus closing

Bard College at Simon's Rock is shutting down its campus in Great Barrington, moving academic programs to a site near the main campus in New York due to declining enrollment.

Weinstein stated, 'After many years of declining enrollment revenue... sustaining the campus in Great Barrington is no longer feasible,' emphasizing the impact of market competition.

Bard president Leon Botstein highlighted Simon's Rock as 'the pioneer of early college', crediting it for innovations leading to 10 public early college campuses nationwide.

Botstein expressed confidence in the move, stating that relocating will allow Simon's Rock to continue its mission and support the future of early college education.
