Art Shape has opened a new hub in the University of Gloucestershire's City Campus, revitalized from the old Debenhams building. This new center will enable the charity to expand its creative health initiatives. It allows for an integrated approach to well-being, supporting medical health with creative practices. The campus will cater to 1,200 students and staff across various disciplines and promote community engagement. It includes an Arts, Health and Wellbeing Centre, enhancing student and public access to creative health benefits.
Art Shape, which works with the NHS to deliver all kinds of art as prescriptions, has a new home in the University of Gloucestershire's City Campus.
Ms Cox said: 'We take an integrated approach to wellbeing, where your medical and clinical health can be really well supported by having creative and expressive practice alongside that.'
The new campus will host education, psychology and social work students. Art Space has moved into its Arts, Health and Wellbeing Centre, on the first floor, next to teaching rooms.
Alex Cottrell, head of external relationships at the University of Gloucestershire, said City Campus had been designed as a 'community campus' rather than a space only for students.
