Advocates call for more provincial funding for Ontario colleges to stop program cuts | CBC News
Briefly

Ontario's colleges are at risk of further program cuts due to significant drops in international student enrolment, exacerbated by federal restrictions on study permits. Centennial College has paused 49 programs as a result. Experts, including the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, which proposes $1.4 billion in additional funding, warn that both program offerings and staffing levels are being reduced. Advocates are urging political action to address the financial strain on post-secondary education, emphasizing the impact on students and the workforce in the province.

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union says $1.4 billion is needed to stabilize the college system in the province.
