Action Day opens first dedicated Spanish immersion campus in Willow Glen
"Action Day is giving families the gift of bilingualism, a skill that strengthens brain development, problem-solving, cultural awareness, and prepares children for a globally connected future."
"Bilingual classrooms are fairly common, but full-immersion preschool programs are rare."
"Students even have better attitudes about school. The question then for parents becomes, 'Why not?'"
The Willow Glen campus on Lincoln Avenue serves children ages 2½–5 with a full-day Spanish immersion curriculum. A ribbon-cutting drew families, neighbors, business leaders and District 6 City Councilmember Michael Mulcahy. Enrollment demand prompted an additional Spanish immersion classroom at the Moorpark campus. The program emphasizes early bilingual exposure to increase neural connections, strengthen problem-solving and cognitive abilities, and build cultural appreciation. Program leadership greets students in Spanish from arrival and centers classroom experiences in the language. The immersion approach aims to foster stronger attitudes about school and prepare children for a globally connected future.
