The U.S. Education Department is set to open the 2025-26 FAFSA for testing, aiming to troubleshoot and improve the application process before its wider release.
Officials revealed that the initial testing phase, Beta 1, will involve close to 1,000 students and six community organizations to identify and fix any issues.
The goal is to ensure a smoother FAFSA experience for all students by hosting completion events and expanding testing through various educational institutions.
Following the testing phase, the FAFSA form is expected to be made available to all students by December 1, showcasing a more prepared rollout.
