"In an earnings call on Nov. 6, 2024, Douglas J. Healey, senior executive vice president of leasing for Macerich, which owns the mall, announced that RH (formerly Restoration Hardware) had signed a lease to take over the 50,000-square-foot building at 1000 S. Main St. Neiman Marcus closed the prominent corner location in 2021 after filing for bankruptcy the year before."
"Menu-wise, expect fancy wedge salads, lobster rolls, elevated burgers, charred rib-eye steaks, whole grilled branzino and caviar galore. At the Palm Court in San Francisco, there is a grilled half avocado topped with a dollop of Petrossian Kaluga caviar and creme fraiche. The appetizer costs $44. At this time, it is unclear what specialties the forthcoming downtown Walnut Creek restaurant might offer."
"The luxury furniture brand started opening stores with restaurants in 2015. The Bay Area is already home to four of them, including the Palm Court at RH, which opened in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood in 2022. Two years later, the RH Rooftop Restaurant at RH Palo Alto debuted just 45 minutes south. Corte Madera and Yountville also have these immersive RH restaurant and shopping experiences."
RH signed a lease to take over the 50,000-square-foot former Neiman Marcus at 1000 S. Main St. in downtown Walnut Creek. Neiman Marcus closed the corner location in 2021 after filing for bankruptcy in 2020. RH Gallery will include a restaurant and an outdoor wine experience. Macerich, the mall owner, announced the lease on an earnings call and Broadway Plaza marketing manager Tracy Dietlein confirmed the signing. RH has been opening stores with integrated restaurants since 2015 and already operates immersive locations across the Bay Area, including San Francisco, Palo Alto, Corte Madera and Yountville. Menu items at other RH restaurants feature high-end seafood, steaks and caviar.
