Fourth of July celebrations across the Bay Area necessitate numerous street closures, transit changes, and fire safety measures. In San Francisco, Muni will follow a Saturday service schedule and increase service to fireworks areas. Non-resident vehicles will be barred from Treasure Island on the evening of July 4. Streets along parade routes will close by 7 a.m. and will reopen post-parade. Additionally, specific Berkeley Hills streets will limit access for non-residents. Other towns like Corte Madera and Bolinas will also experience various road closures throughout the day.
Muni will operate on a Saturday schedule on Friday with extra service to and from the fireworks area between Aquatic Park and Fisherman's Wharf.
Treasure Island will be closed to non-resident cars on the evening of the 4th. Only people who live on the island will be able to drive in.
Streets along the city's massive parade route will begin closing at 7 a.m. on Friday and will begin to reopen after the parade ends at noon.
In the Berkeley Hills, several streets will be closed to nonresidents starting at 5 a.m. on Friday through 5 a.m. Saturday, July 5.
